Wow – what a time to be a Wealdstone fan; be you long-serving, only since Marine or somewhere in the middle!
There’s just over a week left until Gary Waddock’s men get the chance to write their names into club folklore if they can beat Southend United to win The Isuzu FA Trophy.
And happily, the schedules of Stones’ players & coaches and Stones’ fans means there’s a chance to say hello to each other as part of the build-up to a momentous day!
We’ve got loads of Wembley merch – scarves, flags, T-shirts, polo shirts and other smaller souvenir items – all in stock at The Vale ready for you.
Here’s a run-down of what to expect next week, as well as answers to the questions we’re most commonly being asked.
Saturday May 9
We’ve got our ‘Meet The Players’ session between 3.30pm and 5.00pm at The Vale tomorrow.
The clubhouse will be open from 10.00am – initially for merchandise collections and sales, then at 12noon for the bar and live football on the TV screens throughout the afternoon, including but not limited to Liverpool v Chelsea (12.30pm), South Shields v Kidderminster Harriers (12.30pm), Hornchurch v Torquay United (3pm), Manchester City v Brentford (5.30pm).
Sunday May 10
With West Ham United v Arsenal on clubhouse TVs at 4.30pm, perhaps we’ll see you this Sunday as well or instead? You’d be very welcome to join us for ‘one week to wait’ refreshments and a chance to peruse Wembley merch at your leisure.
Monday May 11 to Friday May 15
While regular clubhouse hires continue in the Function Room at The Vale, we’ll be open for merch from 4pm to 9pm with the bar open 7pm to 9pm – and probably a little bit earlier on Friday!
Live TV games include Premier League and EFL Play-Off second legs: Spurs v Leeds and Millwall v Hull (Mon May 11, 8pm), Southampton v Boro (Tue May 12, 8pm), Man City v Palace (Wed May 13, 8pm), Bradford v Bolton (Thu May 14, 8pm), Villa v Liverpool (Fri May 15, 8pm).
Saturday May 16
Wealdstone FC Supporters Club are running a Wembley ‘Fan Zone’ for Manchester City followers, and this will wrap around our merch & bar timings of 2pm to 6pm. This of course includes the screening of The FA Cup Final (City v Chelsea), which kicks off at 3pm.
Sunday May 17
The Big Day itself! Gates at The Vale will open from 9am.
Car parking is available free, on a first-come first-served basis until the ‘Car Park Full’ signs go up. Thereafter, street parking will be available – as it is on a normal matchday. Please be considerate toward our neighbours.
Dd’s Catering will be serving a range of breakfast items from their truck, those last-minute merch purchases will be available from the Boardroom Terrace, and the clubhouse bar will be serving from 10am.
The players are set to leave from The Vale at 11am and head for a pre-match meal at their team hotel. Note: this is still subject to change and final confirmation.
We’ll look to finish up at the bar around 1.30pm, so gates can close by 2pm latest to allow all staff time to get to Wembley Stadium.
